General - Frequently Asked Questions


Please see below a list of questions and answers frequently asked about enrollment:

  1. What are the hours of the school? We are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.

  2. What ages do you accept? We accept children ages 3 to 5. Children who are 2.9 can be accepted only in the month of September  as long as they will turn 3 by December 31.

  3. Do I need vouchers to attend ACE Integration Head Start? No, our program is 100% free. We do  not need or accept vouchers.

  4. Does the school provide bussing? Yes,  this is provided by Board of Education  but only for our children with special needs who are receiving services (inclusion).

  5. Is there an income requirement? Yes. Our families must be at or below the poverty line to qualify although we can accept up to 12 children who are over income.

  6. Does my child need to be potty trained to attend school? No, but we will work with you and your child on potty training.

  7. What immunizations does my child need to attend school? We need proof of the following:

  • HIB ( Haemophilus Influenza Type B) , 3 doses

  • DTaP (Diptheria and Tetanus toxoids and Pertussis vaccine), 4 doses

  • MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella), 1 dose

  • Hepatitis A, 1 dose

  • Hepatitis B, 3 doses

  • Varicella (Chickenpox), 1 dose

  • Polio, 3 doses

  • Influenza, 1 dose (though some children may need 2)

  • Pneumococcal disease (PCV7) 1 dose

  1. Do you require a medical and a dental form? Yes, we require both and must be renewed yearly.

  1. How much does the program cost? Our program is 100% free.

  1. What is required to enroll my child? You must provide for us: Your child’s birth certificate, their immunization booklet, Medicaid or insurance cards for all family members and proof of income (i.e. W-2 form, pay stub, notarized employer letter, EPFT voucher, social security check stub or spousal support letter). You should make an appointment with one of our Family Workers by calling 718 443-3917 and pushing extension 211, 208 or 228.
